Peak Performance Buoyancy Pool

The purpose of the Peak Performance Buoyancy Pool is to polish a diver's buoyancy control beyond the Open Water Diver level. The goal of this course is to enhance the diver's buoyancy control abilities through knowledge development and practical skill practice.
Prerequisites: Certified Jr. or Open Water Diver and be 10 years of age or older.
Course Content: 1.5 Hour classroom session at MASS Diving and 2-3 hour pool session. Classroom session will consist of viewing the PADI Peak Performance DVD and discussing the pool topics. The pool session will consist of:
- 1. Equipment set-up
- 2. Visualization and meditation
- 3. Buoyancy check in shallow end
- 4. Weight positioning and distribution
- 5. Breathing management
- 6. Fin pivoting and breathing underwater
- 7. Fine-tuning buoyancy
- 8. Proper kicking techniques
- 9. Underwater swimming - streamlining
- 10. Hovering
- 11. Practice time
Required Materials: Peak Performance Buoyancy Manual: and DVD:available together in crewpack
Students must review the Peak Performance Buoyancy DVD before class.
Equipment: Highly recommended that you use your own equipment in the pool. Tanks and weights are supplied. If you do not have your own equipment, we can supply regulator, BCD, and wetsuit. Students must supply their mask, snorkel, fins, and boots.
Classroom: 3pm at MASS Diving
Pool Location: Wayland Community Pool 258 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland, MA 01778 Pool Time 5pm to 8:30pm.
Optional Ocean Training Dives: For full certification, students must complete two open water training dives. Click here for more information or to register for the dives. Students can complete these dives on one of our exotic group trips or in New England during the summer.
MASS Diving Cancellation/Postponement Policy: MASS Diving reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class due to weather, lightning, pool closing, below minimum enrollment levels, or any other circumstance that may cause the course to be postponed. In the event of a class cancellation by MASS Diving, the student may switch to another date or receive a full refund on the instructional portion of the course. Materials fee is only refundable if returned in its original condition. Classes - Up to 14 Days Before Class Start Date: Students may transfer into another class or cancel and receive a refund up to 14 days prior to their course start date with a 10% service fee. Student kit will only be credited if returned unused. Opened DVDs cannot be returned. 5 to 13 Days Before Class Start Date: Students can transfer into a future class, no refunds and a re-scheduling fee of $50.00 will apply. 0 to 4 Days Before Class Start Date: students can transfer into a future class, no refunds and a re-scheduling fee of 50% of the tuition will apply. Rental Equipment is non-refundable, Gift Cards are non-refundable, Charter Boat is non-refundable unless the charter cancels.
