PADI Open Water Training Dives

Four ocean dives are required for PADI Open Water Certification. Students must register in advance for these dates. If you need to rent equipment for these dives, you will need to come in to the store and be fitted. Please do this in advance so we can guarantee that we will have equipment for your ocean dive weekend.

Tuition: Includes instruction for the entire weekend and certification card fees.

Pre-requisites: Minimum age 14 at the instructors discretion.

Open Water Skill Review Policy:  If you are planning to do your check out dives with us here in New England and it has been longer than 3 months since your pool sessions, we require that you take an Open Water Skills Review prior to doing your check out dives.  We will schedule those as needed and the cost is $150. Any outside referrals wanting to complete their training with us, must attend a pool skills review session prior to open water dives. We will schedule those refreshers as needed and the cost is $150.

Student Rental Rate: (Includes 2 tanks, regulator, BC, wetsuit, & weight belt.) Students must supply mask, snorkel, fins, boots, hood, & gloves. Student discount is 15% off our regular rental rate (estimated $106.25). We highly recommend you purchase your own exposure suit for the ocean session. Students will receive a 10% discount on their wet or drysuit purchase. You will need 2 tanks each day. Tanks can be refilled at the store at no charge on Saturday.

Students may pick up their equipment either Thursday or Friday and return it after the dives on Sunday. Students can wash their equipment at the store.

Meeting Places and Times - All four ocean training dives will be conducted in the Gloucester and Rockport area. Times will vary depending on the month. Estimated meeting time 6am. Students should arrive back at the store early afternoon.

Note: There is limited metered parking at the dive site. Please carpool as much as possible. Bring lots of quarters to feed the meters. Meters now accepting credit cards.

Alternate: If conditions at the selected dive site are unfavorable, we will select and alternative site. Note fee is $20.00 per carload at Stage Fort Park. Click here for directions to dive sites.
