Advanced Open Water
Open Water divers take the next step learn advanced skills. Our PADI Advanced courses are only conducted on our group dive trips.

In your Open Water Course you learned the basic skills to become a SCUBA diver. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Program builds upon the skills you learned in your Open Water Course and allows you to increase your comfort and enjoyment levels under the guidance of a PADI professional. This course is ideal for divers who just completed their Open Water Course or divers who want to further their SCUBA education. This course consists of one classroom session and 5 dives.
Our Advanced program consists of five dive:
Peak Performance Buoyancy
Underwater Navigation
Deep Diver
Underwater Naturalist or other specialty
Night Diver
Prerequisites:
- Complete the PADI Continuing Education Documentation including the Medical Questionnaire.
- PADI Open Water certification (or equivalent).
- Minimum age is 15.
Home Study Requirements: Students are required to complete the Scuba Review session in the Adventures in Diving manual, read the appropriate chapters, and complete the knowledge reviews before the orientation night. The Peak Performance Buoyancy, Navigation, Deep, Underwater Naturalist, and Night sections must be completed for our Advanced Open Water Diver Program.
Classroom Session: This maybe done locally before our group trip or during our group trip.
Equipment Required: Full SCUBA equipment including a regulator with an octopus or redundant air, dive computer, and compass. Other equipment needed: an audible device (whistle or dive alert), primary dive light, back up light, tank light, underwater slate, and a log book.

Student Kit: Includes PADI Adventures in Diving manual & slate, and student folder.

MASS Diving Cancellation/Postponement Policy: MASS Diving reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class due to weather, lightning, pool closing, or any other circumstance that may cause the course to be postponed. In the event of a class cancellation by MASS Diving, the student can reschedule or receive a full refund on the instructional portion of the course. If a student cancels, they may reschedule their class or cancel and receive a refund with a 10% service fee. However, cancellation by the student within 48 hours prior to the course start date will have a 50% surcharge. Pool fees may not be refundable. Student materials and gift cards are non-refundable.
