There is nothing like the enjoyment and comfort of diving dry. However, proper training is essential for drysuit diving. In our Drysuit Course, you will learn the following:

  • · Drysuit materials
  • · Proper selection and fit
  • · Choosing the proper undergarment
  • · Care and maintenance
  • · The academics & technical aspects of diving dry
  • · Proper diving technique

To receive a PADI Certification Card, students must have a PADI Open Water Certification Card or equivalent, and must complete two drysuit ocean dives.

This course is a prerequisite for drysuit rentals.  NOTE:  Rental availability is not guaranteed with class registration.  Sizes and quantities are limited.  Schedule a rental fitting in advance of class to be sure we can accommodate your rental needs.

Materials Needed not included in the price: Visit PADI's website, enroll in the PADI eLearning Drysuit Course, and complete the online course before the first day of class. (Payment for the online course purchased directly through PADI's website).

Pool Training: Proper don and doff of the drysuit, buoyancy check at the surface, proper descent and ascent, neutral buoyancy at depth, proper kicking and positioning techniques, recovery from excess gas in the feet, plus removal and replacement of both the scuba unit and weight system at the surface.

Ocean Training: Two dives are required for a PADI Drysuit certification.
Dive 1: Surface buoyancy check, neutral buoyancy fin pivot, hovering, tour, neutralize buoyancy during ascent, ascent with safety stop.
Dive 2: Neutralize buoyancy at depth, disconnect and reconnect drysuit hose, tour, neutralize buoyance during ascent, and ascent with safety stop.

Pre-requisites: Minimum age is 15, Open Water Diver or equivalent rating

MASS Diving Cancellation/Postponement Policy: MASS Diving reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class due to weather, lightning, pool closing, below minimum enrollment levels, or any other circumstance that may cause the course to be postponed. In the event of a class cancellation by MASS Diving, the student may switch to another date or receive a full refund on the instructional portion of the course. Materials fee is only refundable if returned in its original condition. Classes - Up to 14 Days Before Class Start Date:  Students may transfer into another class or cancel and receive a refund up to 14 days prior to their course start date with a 10% service fee. Student kit will only be credited if returned unused.  Opened DVDs cannot be returned. 5 to 13 Days Before Class Start Date: Students can transfer into a future class, no refunds and a re-scheduling fee of $50.00 will apply. 0 to 4 Days Before Class Start Date: students can transfer into a future class, no refunds and a re-scheduling fee of 50% of the tuition will apply. Rental Equipment is non-refundable, Gift Cards are non-refundable, Charter Boat is non-refundable unless the charter cancels.
